My names is Shamika and I am the owner of The Yard By H.A.I.R. Im 31 years old and I have been inspired to do hair since I was about 6 years old. A Few years ago I assisted as a shampoo girl and fell in love with the business side of Cosmetology. I had a vision that one day I would become a Salon Owner and manage my own Hair SaIon, Now Here I Am. I Believe I'm uniquely qualified to run this Salon because of my passion in haircare and people. I Grew up in the Philadelphia Housing Authority (projects) Raised by my grandmother her bravery and sacrifices challenged me to beat all odds against me. Doing her hair, my niece's, family, and friends my grandmother alway said I had growing hands. In businesses and life you have to have the passion, confidence, and consistency to overcome. What excites me about running a business is that I get to interact with different people that comes from all walks of life with different talents and uniqueness within the community.
