Since I was a little boy, I remember being mesmerized by flowers. Was it their colors, their perfume, their texture, their beauty, or was it a combination of them all? They had a certain je ne sais quoi that enchanted me. Recently, I learned from my mother (Lucy) that in the very early years of my life, she knew that I was different. She told me that I got a wild flower, wrapped it in a small piece of tissue paper (perhaps a literal soft tissue,) and gave it to her as a gift. She continued telling me that she was in disbelief because I was just "too young" to understand what I had just done. When I think about flowers, I recall that they were one of the first things I knew I loved; I still do, and perhaps, always will... Today, after so many years, I have the opportunity and privilege of working with the magic of flowers.
