Annalisa Ewald, classical and baroque guitarist, studied with Segovia's colleague, Sophocles Papas, then at the San Francisco Conservatory and Bard College, won five grants from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), and initiated the Cosmos Club Concerts in Washington, D.C. She is a soloist and ensemble player in the NY metropolitan area.
For twenty years she was privileged to have been mentored by the profound Patrick O'Brien, internationally recognized authority on early music.
She recently launched Circe's Consort, an ensemble exploring music of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Her first live solo album, well-received by critics, garnered the No. 8 spot on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. Her collected transcriptions of Argentine tangos is pending publication by her independent publishing company.
Over decades of teaching, The Ewald Suzuki Guitar Method evolved, her own approach to learning classical guitar.
