Business Description
I came to Pilates the way many people do: a searing need for flat fabulous abs paired with exercise induced pain!
A friend introduced me to Pilates by bringing me to a reformer class. It was such a challenge for me! As an endurance athlete and mountain biker I was used to powering my way through everything. Pilates -- with it's focus on correct form and mindfulness -- was foreign to me. I was both frustrated and intrigued. A patient instructor taught me that muscle imbalances were responsible for much of my joint pain. As my mechanics changed, my pain diminished and my athletic performance thrived.
I've been teaching Pilates now for 12 years, and have helped clients with pain, tightness and general unhappiness with their bodies! My clients are athletes, moms, 15 to 90 year-olds, and folks recovering from recent surgeries. I'm BASI trained with additional certifications in shoulder and knee rehab, scoliosis and creating programs for athletes.
