Business Description
Originally established by Steve Sodeyama, I took over as President recently, but have been involved in the restaurant business much longer. I started working in my grandparents restaurant, Suishin Sukiyaki, in junior high school as a dishwasher. Suishin was the first Japanese restaurant in Santa Barbara and opened November 8, 1963. They also had the first sushi bar there in the 1970s. Even highly noted sushi chef, Nozawa-San was at Suishin for a time and made many fans there including me. Anyway, I've always loved Japanese restaurants and food, as do all of us here at Taiko, and love to help plan, open and operate all things Japanese-food by supplying goods and services for this specialized market.
