Stone House Vineyard was established in 1999 by Angela and Howard, who had a passion for good wine and food. While they initially had no intention of planting grape vines, the idea of joining the evolving wine industry in Texas grew on them. After considerable research with viticulturists and oenologists, they decided to plant nearly seven acres of the Norton grape varietal, which produces a delicious medium to full-bodied red wine. Norton is also disease-resistant and has a late bud break, avoiding the late freezes in the Texas Hill Country.

By their first vintage in 2002, Angela was fully in charge of the vineyard and determined to produce the highest quality grapes, while Howard was allowed to walk among the vines and admire her work. Over the years, the vineyard has grown to include a wider variety of grape varietals, including Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Stone House Vineyard's heritage stretches all the way to Australia, Angela's home country. She continues to source grapes and winemaking techniques, including her winemaker, from the Barossa Valley wine country in Australia to blend Texas and Australian methodologies and flavors, creating wines that showcase two viticultural stars at once.
