I think back to when I was in grade school in uptown Chicago. We lived in a 30 floor high rise building that had business offices and shops on the lower three floors. I remember peering into the salon and watching people get their hair done. A lady with a boutique on the first floor used to let me come in and play with all the dresses. My mom was always very glamours. She would buy my sisters and me matching dresses, do our hair and occasionally let us wear lip gloss. Before starting middle school at 12 years old, my mom took me to Merle Norman in the mall and got me makeup lessons. The Makeup Artist there was also Asian and taught me how to apply and blend my makeup. It was the 80’s and bright colors and over the top hairstyles were all the rage. I loved all of it! Eyelash Extensions as we know them weren’t around til 2006, but I jumped on that bandwagon immediately! Today, I am still passionate about makeup and fashion and now Eyelash Extensions as well.
