Joel has been dog walking professionally for about a year, founding Silver Lake Dog Walkers shortly after he and his girlfriend found a lost cocker spaniel wandering Sunset Boulevard. The dog, who he named Amelia (after twee pop icon Amelia Fletcher), quickly became Joel's best friend, spurring his interest in dogs -- dogs themselves, dog training, the history of dogs, dog psychology -- which occupied him so thoroughly he decided to make a career out of it. Other than dogs, Joel loves 19th century French literature, contemporary television, Woody Allen movies, and a lot of music.
