Business Description
Born in Guyana, South America, and raised in Boston, MA. I arrived in New York to study at Pratt Institute in 1985. Worked in retail for over 20 years, from The Brooklyn Museum, Rizzolo Bookstore(SoHo), JFK Airport(Duty Free Intl.) to Non-profit publishing (Rockefeller University Press). Not happy with just sitting behind a desk, I went back to my creative roots. I knew I wanted to work with my hands and be outside, or close to the outdoors. I started apprenticing at a wood workshop as a sander. Best summer of my life. But alas, one had to pay the bills. My dog walker suggested (and on many other occasions) that I should dog walk and that she was leaving her business, would I be interested. Maybe I'll just take one client and see how it goes. That lead to a second, and that conflicted with my schedule at the shop. I left and have been walking dogs ever since and loving it. As dogs are prone to do, they accepted me with open arms as their pack leader and member.
