For almost 60 years, Yermo has worn out his boots, as he traveled and explored the deserts, mountains, canyons and rivers of the American Southwest. A Hualapai Elder once told Yermo, "If you wish to see, you must first learn how to look, how to observe, to look past the surface, and then maybe, if you are very lucky and show respect, the old ones will let you see through their eyes and be touched by the heart of the Wilderness..."
For decades Yermo has guided people into the canyons and mountains of the Mojave Desert and Colorado Plateau.
For 30 years, he has worked as an archaeologist, excavating, recording and mapping sites, and documenting the rock writings (petroglyphs and pictographs) left by the 'Ancient Ones'.
