Steeped in history, Schooner Heron has a story that dates back to its inception. The journey began in 1993 with a smaller vessel, the 40' Rhodes sloop SHANTIH II, which could accommodate a maximum of six passengers. As the business grew, the decision was made to build the grand Schooner Heron. The 1928 plans for the schooner were acquired from the prestigious John G Alden company in Boston, and construction began in January 2000. The keel was laid, and after meticulous craftsmanship, the Schooner Heron was launched in July 2003. Since then, this magnificent vessel has sailed over 100,000 miles, from the pristine coastlines of Maine to the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean.
