Business Description
Mike O'Donnell grew up in Brooklyn, NY in a family dedicated to safety and service; Mike's father and three of his brothers are retired NYC firefighters, and his fourth brother is a sergeant with the NYPD. Mike Graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis) and served our country as a Naval Officer for eight years. As a Naval Aviator, Mike deployed to the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf aboard the USS Roosevelt and USS Enterprise aircraft carriers. Mike then served as an Instructor at the Naval Academy and earned a masters degree at ST John's College, Annapolis.
Mike honorably resigned his commission and returned home to New York to pursue his passion for teaching and has taught at St John's University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, SUNY FIT, and Nassau Community College while also providing fire drills and fire safety training to buildings throughout NYC. Mike created New York Safety and Training as a means to combine his passions for safety, service, and teaching.
