Business Description

Mary Matt, owner of Mt. Si Quilts, first thrust a needle into her thumb while embroidering a tea towel in first grade. From that inauspicious beginning, Mary moved on to embroider pillow cases and jean pockets. Later, she attained a second place ribbon in the Junior Division at the Evergreen State Fair for her embroidery. As a Girl Scout in fifth grade, she sewed her first shirt which earned her a sewing badge. Since then, family members and others have been beneficiaries of her sewing bounty; receiving vests, anoraks, caps, gaiters, sleeping bags, baby quilts and full-size quilts for over 30 years.
