Dr. Joe opened the Mountain Lore Animal Hospital in July, 1989. A Connecticut native, he received his Bachelor Degree from UConn (Go, Huskies!) and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University. Dr. Joe and his wife have periodically bred Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1985 under the kennel name "Lupine". Currently he has two Berners, one Kleiner Munsterlander, one cat, a blue and gold macaw, and seven giant koi fish.
