Business Description
George Matheis retired from the Aberdeen Police Department in 2007. While with Aberdeen, George's assignments and duties included SWAT, Special Operations, patrol, crisis negotiations, and firearms instructor. His achievements included starting the county's first patrol rifle program, and creating the agency's edged weapon survival, and officer survival courses.
After retiring, George founded Modern Combative Systems LLC to provide defensible, principle driven strategies for all types of interpersonal conflicts for citizens and professionals alike. Through MCS, George has also collaborated on designing tactical gear ranging from knives to packs.
George, best known for his groundbreaking edged weapon training, wrote the edged weapon program for the US Air Force Special Operations Commands DAGRE (Deployed Aircraft Ground Response Element). His Edged Weapon Survival for Law Enforcement course was presented at both the American Law Enforcement Education and Trainers Association
