Business Description
My wife Wilma and I moved from Buffalo and purchased Landmark Acres in 1974 in Westfield, NY, which had an Antique Shop since 1946. We continued as teachers in Buffalo and I as a student for the next 4 or 5 years commuting. I left a PhD program and the teaching profession in 1976 and became a full time antique dealer. Landmark Acres Antiques has been a major antique shop for over 70 years. My wife continued to teach and commute to Buffalo until 2002 when she retired. Wilma and I have our home on the property, the oldest settled property in Chautauqua County 1802. We also have a 15 acre grape farm on site.
In 1986 we purchased a brick Victorian home in Westfield, NY, Candlelight Lodge. We restored and converted Candlelight into an early Bed and Breakfast with seven suites. In 2000 with the assistance of the National Historic Trust we moved another historic home in Westfield, the Captain Storm House onto Candlelight Lodge property to give us four additional suites as a Vacation Rental.
