The Kentwood Players, a non-profit community theater organization located in Los Angeles, California, has been providing high-quality live-stage comedies, dramas, and musicals at reasonable cost for over 70 years. Founded in 1950 by the late Arky and Jan Marcom, Elizabeth Thornberg, and Betty Francis, the group performs out of the Westchester Playhouse, located near LAX. The company got its start and name as members of the Kentwood Elementary School PTA in Westchester, motivated by a school play they performed there, and decided to keep a good thing going. This small group of talented men and women quickly got their act together, so to speak, and in 1950, the illustrious theater "family" officially began.

In 1960, the group found its present location at the corner of 83rd Street and Hindry, where they transformed an old warehouse into the Westchester Playhouse, that now houses a proscenium stage, dressing rooms, costume closets, a scene shop, and 112 comfortable seats. Kentwood Players is proud to present Christopher Durang's comedy "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" on Friday, September 17 - Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the newly refurbished Westchester Playhouse. This is a non-equity/all-volunteer production directed by Susan Stangl, produced by Alison Boole, and Myron Klafter for Kentwood Players by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. The cast features Chris Morrison (Vanya), Valerie Sullivan (Sonia), Sarilee Kahn (Masha), Giovanni Navarro, and Jeff Dewitt (Spike), Allison Reeves (Cassandra), and Isabella Petrini (Nina).
