Business Description

Born and raised in Gearhart, OR to a self-employed logging family, I know how hard it can be to make a living on the coast. Hard work and irregular hours coupled with the seasonal influx of business caused by weather is no surprise to me. It gave me a great respect for those who truly work for a living.

I learned early to work smarter and earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science from ITT, Seattle in 1991. Eager to pay my school loans I came back to my home town and took a job on the commercial fishing vessel Nicole. It only took a few months to learn that there was a better place for me, management. I took a shore job as a sales clerk at the local Copeland Lumber and worked through their management program. Shortly after that, I started bothering the owners of Jensen's to get a job. They eventually hired me and spent nearly 10 years teaching me their business before retiring and selling it to me. I've never stopped learning...I love what I do!
