Aloha! I'm Valerie, lei maker and owner of Hakus & Love! I learned lei making from my kumu in my hula halau here in California over 10 years ago. I started this business as an outpouring of my love for Hawaiian culture and tradition as well as my love for florals and design! I studied floral design in college and have worked hard to make sure I am producing the best product possible for my customers.
I am an experienced teacher of lei po'o workshops and have a passion for teaching lei making. Some workshops I have hosted include Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, Pacific City in Huntington Beach, and Lululemon South Coast Plaza, as well as hundreds of private workshops for clients.
My whole heart goes into this art. Every flower & leaf are placed with such thought and care, to make you feel cherished, beautiful, powerful, wonderful & loved.
