Business Description
As previously stated, Judy N. is one of the owners and serves as Executive Director. She holds 2 degrees in music, including a Master's in Piano Performance. She previously taught at Valparaiso University as an adjunct instructor in piano and one of the piano teachers for the University's preparatory music department (Partners for Music). Judy also taught for 16 years in the Gary Community School Corporation at the Wirt-Emerson School for Visual and Performing Arts. She was the piano teacher for grades 5-12.
All during this time, Judy was a customer at Gratz and knew the late owner, Michael Gratz, well. The mutual respect they had for music, (pianos and piano music in particular) was the motivating force behind Judy and her husband to purchase the sheet music and lesson portion of the business when the family sold it.
