Michael V. Dieter graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1975 with a doctorate in optometry. Following his formal education, he served as an optometrist and Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1978 while stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, Michigan and Pease AFB in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. After leaving the Air Force, he opened private practices in St. Peter and Le Center, Minnesota and practiced general optometry for eight years. In 1986, he sold the practices and moved his family to his birthplace of Roseau, Minnesota. With offices in Roseau and Warroad, MN., he practiced in partnership with close friend and colleague Dr. DeVaughn Erickson. In 2014, he sold his practices, moved to Maple Grove and opened the Dry Eye Clinic in the Arbor Lakes Medical Building, limited to the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye.
