Business Description

Hi!

I'm Katrena, the Owner and Founder of Different Drummer Dance, which got its start as The Ballerina Birthday back in 2011.

I'm a dancer, choreographer, dance educator and have been dancing for over twenty years and teaching for over ten. I am a member of the Royal Academy of Dance, and have graduated from their Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies Program.

I'm a California native and taught at dance studios around the Bay Area for the past 10 years, and was a member of the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and Brisas de Espana for several years before starting my own business and moving to the Adirondacks.

I'm passionate about bringing body positivity and inclusivity to the dance community, starting with the classes I teach in upstate New York!
