Located in the town of Concord, California, the Community Youth Center (CYC) provides a state-of-the-art sports and academic complex for young people to thrive in. Founded in 1995 with a one million dollar gift from The K.H. Hofmann Foundation, CYC has been instrumental in addressing the growing concerns of cutbacks in youth programs at a time when young people are vulnerable to problems like gangs, drugs, and crime.

CYC offers a variety of recreational and competitive programs, including boxing, football, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, gymnastics, soccer, dance, cheerleading, and strength and conditioning. All of these programs are augmented with two Academic Excellence Centers where students can do homework on their own or receive assistance from tutors.

CYC promotes structure, discipline, and order in a young person's life. It is not a drop-in day care facility nor an after-school youth meeting place. Students must be participating in one of the athletic classes or working on academics during their time at the Center.

Membership fees are just $33 per month, and scholarships are available for those in need. CYC continues to receive support from private funding, as The K.H. Hofmann Foundation believes that through controlled sports training and education augmentation, today's youth that take advantage of CYC programs and services will develop discipline, dedication, and the desire to better themselves.
