Business Description
Alexis holds a BA in Dance and French from Connecticut College, where she began to study Pilates. Originally from Nantucket, Massachusetts, she lived in San Francisco for 6 years where she continued her Pilates training at the Pilates Center of San Francisco (PCSF) and danced with modern dance company RAWdance. After training at PCSF for several years, she completed a 700-hour Classical Pilates certification through Metropolitan Pilates and PCSF, where she began teaching. Before moving to Asheville in the fall of 2010 to open her studio, she taught Pilates in Geneva, Switzerland. She continues to attend continuing education workshops with Master Teachers Dorothee VandeWalle, Kathi Ross-Nash, Mari Winsor, MeJo Wiggin, Chris Robinson, Blossom Leilani Crawford, and Jay Grimes. Alexis attributes Pilates to a lasting career in dance, and emphasizes that Pilates is for everyBODY.
