Evgeny was a Top 10 Junior Player in Russia for over 6 years and was an Athlete of the Year in Achinsk, Russia (other nominates were Olympic participants for Russia). During the college years, he was the # 1 Player for Gardner-Webb University (D1) for 4 consecutive years. During that time he was named 1st Team All-Conference in Singles and Doubles for Atlantic Sun and Big South Conferences as well as All-Academic Player for Gardner-Webb University in Big South Conference. Evgeny was also nominated Male Athlete of the Year at Gardner-Webb University in 2010. He then played on various ITF Pro Circuit Events before got injured.

As a Coach, he was a sparring partner for over 10 ATP and WTA players that were ranked between 400 and 1000 in the World. He assisted Tennis Coach for Gardner-Webb University for Men and Women teams. Evgeny also was an associate Head Coach for Gardner-Webb University Men's Team. He coached Ludmila Vasyileva to her highest WTA # 613 from 850 in the World.
