Business Description

Carr's Rug Cleaning was founded in 1984 by Bob Carr. Two years earlier after a short career as a speech pathologist, he helped form, with other family members, Fiber-Seal of East Tn. It was here that Bob began learning how to properly care for high-end textiles. An introduction to Oriental rug cleaning came with a visit to Corrigan Rug Cleaners in Winchester, Va., and this meeting led to joining the Mid-South Professional Cleaners Association. Bob has been a sitting council member of the National Institute of Rug Cleaning. He has more recently served on the Board of Directors of ARCS, the Association of Rug Care Specialist. Ben Knause, operations manager, is a Certified Rug Specialist and has served on the education committee and is a current Board Member of ARCS.
