Dr. Saslow started out as a infectious disease epidemiologist, and a Federal Officer with CDC stationed in Alaska, then ended up at the Univ. of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he was the Chief Epidemiologist in the development of the Pneunomovax (pneumonia) Vaccine--during a year sabbatical in England he linked up with Ira Goldberg, one of the owners of Superior Stamp & Coin of Beverly Hills--based on his numismatic expertise he was asked to be Overseas Director of the firm, which lasted 3 years and was very profitable for both parties, he then developed his own company Rare Coins & Classical Arts Ltd., which then devolved into Thomas & Co. which bought the rights to stamps, coins, and autographs of the well known NYC firm of Harmer Rooke--when that company was bought, he then developed Ye Olde Curiositie Shoppe--a major retail store in South orange, NJ where he remains today, 6 days a week--he also attends about 13 of the largest coins shows in the US every year
