Tina Durbin, the owner and President of Tryon Health and Fitness Club, has enjoyed various forms of fitness since she first learned to dance as a child and later joined the Army Reserves. Even when pregnant with her three children, Tina continued to dance and try to maintain fitness. However, after having three children in as many years, she needed to bring her level of fitness back up. She began by taking aerobics classes, then realized she could teach classes to others as well. She quickly made a name for herself and held instructor positions at Nautilus Fitness Center, was the assistant aerobics director at The Spartanburg Athletic Club, and was the aerobics director at the Spartanburg YMCA. However, Tina enjoyed the independence of running her own company and started a company called Fitness-To-Go, which sent instructors who had been trained by Tina to offsite locations to teach fitness classes.
