Business Description

Following his studies at the University of Missouri, T.J. began his business career in management with K's Merchandise in 1995 in Quincy, Illinois. K's Merchandise promoted T.J. and moved him to Carbondale in 1997. Having fallen in love with the community from day one, upon the closure of K's Merchandise, T.J. decided to open T.J.'s Fine Jewelry in October 2007. The success of the jewelry store led him to open his second business in Carbondale as well, The Blue Martin. The Blue Martin opened in October 2009.

T.J. is an active member of the community, having donated time, talent, and treasure to many local charities and faith based organizations. One of the most recent efforts includes the Martinis & a Manicure at The Blue Martin on Monday evenings. Proceeds of this event benefit Pat's Kids, an area charity that benefits children who've been abused.

T.J. married his wife, Lauren, in 2003. They have three daughters, Kylie, Keelyn and Kamryn.
