The Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, located in St. Joseph, MO 64501, is a historic and breathtaking venue that specializes in intimate weddings and special events. The mansion was built in 1879 by William and Eliza Wyeth and was designed to replicate the castles that the family had seen on their trip of the Rhine River in Europe.
Architect Edmond Eckel was commissioned to build the home, and his firm designed many of the homes and buildings in the area at the time. The Wyeth family was very prominent in business in St. Joseph throughout the 20th century. The Wyeths lived in the home for 10 years until it was sold to Milton and Kate Tootle. Unfortunately, Milton passed away before they moved into the home, and Kate raised her family there alone.
When the home went up for sale, it was purchased by the Goetz (Goetz Brewery) Family and donated to the museum. The Wyeth-Tootle Mansion now houses several exhibits about St. Joseph history, interactive children's exhibits, and is rental space for special events.
The mansion's ambience is stunning, with its elegant white stone, intricate details, and charming Victorian vibe. Guests will be transported to another time and place as they marvel at the beauty and history of this majestic venue.
Reviews of the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion rave about its conservation information, making it a must-visit if you're interested in learning about St. Joseph's history. Visitors also appreciate the mansion's accessibility, conveniently located off the interstate.
