TrueToTanzania founders Christian and Marisela have a home in Tanzania and a home in North Carolina. They have set up a base at the foothills of Kilimanjaro and have multiple projects going on at any given time of the year. Christian was born and raised in the Kilimanjaro region, where he has formed numerous friendships and has provided immeasurable guidance. He began taking benefactors of his father's medical mission on safari excursions during his late teens. With TrueToTanzania, he continues his mother's mission to provide life-long education and training to Tanzanians. Christian is a mechanical engineer, and his interests include everything about Land Rovers, motorbike riding, aerospace engineering, Formula1, soccer, Kilimanjaro hiking expeditions, reading about early travels of East African frontiersmen, like Hemingway, Selous and Teddy Roosevelt. He also maintains a keen interest in preserving the resources of Tanzania.
