Business Description

Julie brings twenty-five years of experience working with children and developing early childhood programming to her role as Program Director at ERS. She spent 16 years creating and facilitating a parent/child art program and curriculum for toddlers and preschoolers, which she delivered in various preschool settings. This is what brought Julie to ERS at its inception, to serve as the school's Atelierista (Art Director). She held this position for five years before taking on the broader role of Program Director. Julie believes that even in this role, creativity and connection are the driving forces that guide her. She uses materials from art and nature to facilitate group cohesion among children, parents, and staff. Her always open office door is key to her belief that being present, sharing experiences, and listening well are the best ways to support, nurture, and grow the community as a whole. Julie received an M.A. in Art Therapy from GWU and a B.A. in Psychology from Cornell.
