Business Description

Located in Spokane, Washington, the Spokane Symphony is a premier performing arts organization that has been entertaining audiences since its inception in 1945. As the largest and most active professional performing arts organization in the Inland Pacific Northwest, the Symphony has earned a reputation for presenting exceptional musical performances and providing educational experiences that are second to none.

Under the leadership of the highly acclaimed Music Director, Eckart Preu, the Spokane Symphony has taken its artistic achievements to the next level. Preu and his team of 70 professional musicians perform for more than 150,000 listeners each season, presenting critically acclaimed performances featuring some of the world's most respected soloists.

In addition to its regular performances, the Symphony provides a wide variety of exceptional educational experiences for people of all ages. These include outreach concerts for school children, master classes for aspiring musicians, and a variety of other programs designed to promote an appreciation for classical music among people of all ages.

The Spokane Symphony's history is as rich as its performances. Originally incorporated in 1945 as the Spokane Philharmonic, the Symphony Society became the Spokane Symphony Society in 1962. During the 1970s, the Symphony performed at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox as its principal venue. The Theater began to decline, and by 2000, it was slated for demolition to make way for a parking lot.

The Symphony led a successful campaign to save the historic theater from destruction. The organization raised over $1.3 million from more than 1,300 contributors, and Martin Woldon's daughter, Miss Myrtle Woldson, donated $3 million to the cause. With this support, the Theater reopened in 2007 and has become the Symphony's primary venue once again.

If you're looking for a world-class musical experience, the Spokane Symphony should be at the top of your list. With its exceptional performances, outstanding soloists, and commitment to music education, the Symphony is a true gem of the Pacific Northwest.
