Business Description

Nestled in the heart of New York City's East Village, Soogil is a unique dining experience that combines Korean and French cuisine in a way that will leave your taste buds dancing. Run and operated by Chef Soogil Lim, Soogil offers a traditional Korean dinner table where rice is the main course, and small plates are shared amongst the table. Chef Soogil's fusion version of this concept is truly something special. While still holding on to the traditional aspect of Korean dining, his French culinary background enhances the flavors with practiced skill and knowledge, resulting in a menu that is entirely made to share.

The menu at Soogil has no courses, giving diners the freedom to indulge in the many choices of starch dishes, or to simply dine with a bowl of rice. Soogil's stylishly chic and minimalist decor provides the perfect backdrop for a truly unique dining experience, with plenty of seating available to accommodate both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.

Chef Soogil Lim has worked hard to bring his vision to life, blending two worlds that he knows best: French and Korean. Born and raised in South Korea, Chef Soogil initially studied biology but was drawn to the culinary world after seeing a sign in a restaurant that said "Make People Happy." He went on to study culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America before beginning his training in French cuisine at Daniel, one of New York's most acclaimed fine dining restaurants. Through his hard work and great talent, he became the first Korean Sous Chef in the restaurant's history.

Guests rave about their dining experiences at Soogil, with a range of cuisine options to suit every palate. The restaurant's ambience is elegant and sophisticated, making it the perfect spot for a romantic evening out or a gathering with friends. Soogil is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of New York City.
