Business Description

Upon receiving her Cosmetology License, River apprenticed with a top hair stylist in Los Angeles, CA for two years before venturing out on her own. Her mentor told River "Do it from the Heart!" So, River fell in love with her new career.

River moved to the United States in 1995 and has since become a citizen. In Vietnam River trained with her uncle and became a fashion designer and tailor. During a family visit in 2005 to Cashiers, Nc River discovered the Cashiers, NC are and convinced her husband to move in 2006 when they opened their first Salon The Historic Raspberry Cottage Salon. Now referred to as River's Salon at the Historic Raspberry Cottage.

River soon discovered what a treasure they had found. The Raspberry Cottage was built in 1935. The Raspberry Cottage was the first home in the area built water percolates up out of the ground.

River passed in 2016. Her salon lives on in her memory. Celebrate River's love of beauty. River donated 5 organs to help others live.
