Richard has been playing piano since the age of nine. He has a B.S. in Music from Illinois State University, where he studied piano with Scottish-born Julian Dawson, former accompanist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and conductor of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in England. Richard also studied with Harold Gray, former Artistic Director of the Portland Piano International. Richard has been a public school music teacher for 29 years and taught piano lab and chorus classes at American High School, Miami Northwestern High School, and Miami Dade College. He has enjoyed being accompanist for seven Miami-Dade and Broward county schools for instrumental solo contests. Richard has performed with local orchestras for productions of "The Nutcracker Suite," and was a pianist/musical director for 10 musical theater productions in Hialeah/Miami Lakes and Pembroke Pines, Florida. He has been a pianist for numerous liturgical and wedding ceremonies, private parties, and business events.
