Naples Backcountry Fishing was founded by Capt. Kevin Merritt nearly 20 years ago after a career as a fishing and hunting guide in his home state of North Carolina. Capt. Kevin's passion for fishing began in his childhood fishing with his father and brother. His love for the outdoors led him to pursue his education in environmental studies which included a semester at UC Santa Barbara studying coastal land use.
