Mitchell Field is a highly experienced hair stylist that has been operating a salon in downtown Fairfax, California since 1992. His salon is a compact, 3-chair storefront situated in the historic 1950s building that is clad in the original Vitrolite and glass-brick, popular in the mid-century. The original 1950's cabinetry remains, with a modern, updated decor, and is believed to be one of the last remaining Vitrolite-clad buildings in the Bay Area.

Mitchell Field specializes in easy-to-care-for haircuts and hair coloring for men and women. He provides his clients with personalized attention and expertise, always following the natural flow of the hair growth to create cuts that frame the face and are flattering to and appropriate for both the client's face-shape and body type. Many of his clients enjoy his "wash-and-wear" cuts.

He offers both modern and classic cuts and can cut with scissors for chunkier, geometric-based styles, (good for fine to medium density hair) or a razor, (sometimes useful to 'taper' thicker hair into layers). He often uses a combination of cutting techniques and tools to get the perfect result. He welcomes the opportunity to help you 'update' your cut and/or color.

After 5 years with Mr. Sassoon, he decided to branch-out into his own salons, in the 1970s in Montreal and then during the 1980s in Los Angeles where he owned and operated two salons named Antenna, where clients included Punks, Mods, New-Wavers, Metalheads, bikers, surfers, and many music and media personalities including Billy Idol, Alice Cooper, Adam Ant, Guns 'n' Roses and Seinfeld's 'Kramer' (Michael Richards).
