Maser Galleries was established in 1970 at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, 75 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founder Ron Maser joined the art business in 1966 as the Pittsburgh manager of Arts International, a Chicago based gallery, created by the brilliant art dealer Jack Soloman to distribute original oil paintings.
In the early 1970's, Maser Galleries was on the ground floor for the first marketing of the graphic giants: Leroy Neiman, Normal Rockwell, Erte, and Simbari. Throughout the 70's Maser Galleries operated in Seven Springs, Shadyside and downtown Pittsburgh. In the 1980's, Maser Galleries added a publishing division involving two of America's greatest illustrators: Robert Peak and Bernie Fuchs. Later, local artists Nat Youngblood, John Shryock, and Tom Mosser joined in the publishing endeavors.
