He fell in love with the stories of the coins, and their "history you could hold in your hands" and went on to earn a degree in history from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
A lifetime member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), David has received the organization's Presidential Award, Glenn Smedley Memorial Award, and Medal of Merit for contributions to the group's numismatic and educational programs. He is a member of the Professional Numismatists Guild, a Fellow of the American Numismatic Society, and Treasurer of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society.
