Gustav was the owner of the Star Brewery and St. Elmo's Hotel in Vancouver, WA. Gustav's descendants owned the house until 1938 and for over 50 years, it was essentially a boarding house. In 1992, the previous owners purchased, renovated, and decorated the house and licensed it as a bed and breakfast.
