Named in honor of the Döner's birthplace, Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab first went into business in 2016 to introduce this delicious new street food to New York City. After starting with a pop-up restaurant and appearing at several food events, Kotti was chosen from hundreds of applicants to participate in Smorgasburg, Brooklyn's premier outdoor food festival. After a summer stint at Smorgasburg, the Kotti team decided it was time to share the love at a permanent location. Their first location at Dekalb Market Hall opened in spring 2017 and is the most eclectic and largest food hall in Downtown Brooklyn, a stone's throw away from Manhattan Bridge at the much-anticipated development, Citi Point. The founder of Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab, Erkan Emre, has been eating döner since his childhood in Berlin. But when he moved to New York City, he noticed there was nowhere to feed his craving for Berliner Döner Kebab. The only solution was to bring döner to New York City himself, so he partnered with his Co-Founder, food industry expert Michael Stark, to turn his vision into reality.

The namesake Doner Kebab sandwich is a quarter of a fluffy Turkish pide bread (my literal favorite bread) layered with shaved chicken, beef, or falafel, salad, garlic sauce, and spicy sauce. The sandwiches come with a side of thick-cut fries, and it's one of the best eats in Brooklyn!
