When Ken Rhodes was in high school in Kanab, UT, he wanted desperately to learn how to play the guitar, but he couldn't find a teacher to help him do it. It took until his senior year in high school before he discovered a "teach yourself" type of course that worked for him. In the 30 years since then he has moved around southern Utah a bit, and he finally found a few teachers. Some of those teachers were in southern Utah, but later moved away. Others were located elsewhere in the country and were helpful for him, but not very accessible for beginners in the local area. He learned a lot about playing guitar, but he also learned a lot about teaching others how to play the guitar. This inspired him to provide something for aspiring guitar students that he did not have when he was wanting to learn so badly. He started teaching guitar in 2007, and has taught more than 150 students since then, ranging in age from 8 to 70, focusing on the student, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
