He raced many cars for 20 years and was a heavy equipment operator and superintendent in the construction business for 30 years. His wife, Mimi Kelley Burton, was born in L.A. and moved to Redding for high school. After graduating, she worked for Costco for years before taking time off to be a mom. Their son, Eddie Burton, was born and raised in Redding. He graduated from high school in 2013 and is currently in the process of transferring to UC Berkeley for architecture. In the meantime, he serves as a barista and their first line of IT Support.
