One of the oldest family-owned retailers in town, the Juergens family has a rich history in the community. Harold and Helen Juergens opened a used furniture store in downtown Huntington in 1946, and by 1950, they were also selling paint, wallpaper, and venetian blinds. Harold was known as "The Color Blind Man" for selling blinds in a variety of colors, a new trend at the time. When their son George joined the business, they expanded into hardware and moved locations several times, even operating two locations in Huntington for a while. In the 1990s, after George's son Dan joined the business, they moved the store to its current location north of town. In 2015, Harold and Helen's great-grandson, Brandon Juergens, joined the family business.
