In 1954, Jim Navarra and two other men opened the first discount furniture warehouse in San Diego, known as Strep's. The new venture was wildly successful.
In the 60's Jim Navarra become the sole owner changing the name to Jerome's Furniture Warehouse to honor his son Jerome who we all know today as Jerry.
In the 70's, the 2nd generation joined the family business. Jerry, Adeline, and Anne helped grow the company into one of the leading furniture retailers in the country.
Between 1980 and 1990, 4 stores were added in San Marcos, Chula Vista, El Cajon and Scripps Ranch. The original store moved to West Morena Blvd.
Recent years brought growth into northern territory opening stores in Murrieta, Corona, Rancho Cucamonga, Torrance, Anaheim and Laguna.
Today, Jerome's has 11 locations leading the local furniture industry. As the 3rd generation joins the company, Jerome's remains committed to continually improving its ability to better serve its customers and make houses into homes.
