Business Description

Chantell Hammond has had an interest in fitness since her childhood. After years of competitive running, motherhood to three small children presented challenges to the sport, and she began looking for other options in fitness. In 2012, while at a local sports club, Hammond stumbled into her first Barre class. Within the hour she knew she had found her new passion in Barre. After a few years of research and further practice, she made the decision to pursue her certification in both Pilates and Barre. In 2015 Hammond completed Mat Pilates certification through Balanced Body University, and Barre certification through Studio J Pilates, Barre, and Fitness. She took a position as a Barre instructor for Studio J in 2015 until the studio dissolved in 2016, providing the inspiration Hammond needed to open Iron Barre Pilates.
