The Inn On The Hill was originally built in 1906 by Edward Day Woodruff, a surgeon for the Union Pacific Railroad, and was designed by the prestigious architectural firm of Headlund and Wood. The second Renaissance Revival style home, fashioned after an English manor, features the finest craftsmanship of the day, including Tiffany stained glass and Oriental rugs. During the 1970s, the house was divided into apartments that were later used for legal offices. In 1998, the Woodruff home became a bed and breakfast, and in 2004, the McCarthey family purchased the Inn and meticulously restored its original loveliness while upgrading guest amenities and adding modern conveniences.
