Business Description
John & Courtney Young were appointed by the county board to take over operations of the FCCRA. John was born and raised in Avon, in the far northwest corner of the county while Courtney was born and raised in Galesburg. John attended Avon High School while Courtney attended Galesburg High School. They have each had diverse career paths; John is a retired educator but still holds credentials as a locksmith. He oversaw the operations of a large locksmith firm and wholesale supplier in the Chicago area. Courtney has worked for international firms, from the Japanese firm Namco to PTT (the Dutch Postal Service), as well as firms like Chicago Title/Property Insight. Courtney & John have also been involved in public service. John was elected twice to the town council in Scales Mound, Il and more recently was the Village President of Avon. It is their hope to make the campground a place where everyone feels welcome.
