The promotion was successful and women weightlifters débuted in the 2000 Olympic Games.
She has been coached by some of the best in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. These include but are not limited to Angel Spassov, Oleg Kechko, and Ursula Garza Papandrea.
Taihina is a sanctioned Olympic Weightlifting Coach and Master Athlete with the United States Weightlifting Federation. She also has certifications with National Academy of Sports Medicine and Health & Fitness Spas, Inc.
She studied Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology and Nutrition at Rutgers University/Douglass College.
Her experience in the fitness industry expands 38 years from starting out as a student of many physical fitness disciplines to becoming a competitive athlete, a master trainer, a supervisor of trainers; as well as a gym manager.
